SkinYourSkunk.com also offers our Completely Custom services. You can provide us with a picture you wish to use as your skin, or we can find that perfect picture for you and if you want something unique, we also employ graphic artists who can make you a design from scratch…exactly to your specifications. Attaching Your Skin
Attaching a SkinYourSkunk.com guitar skin is rather simple, but does require some minor “arts and crafts” ability. Your skin will arrive and will be a full rectangular print custom sized to your instrument. In most cases, the customer removes the hardware first. Then, you attach the skin, trim the excess, cut out the holes for your pick-ups, etc. and re-install your hardware. You can visit our INSTRUCTIONS page for more information, videos and pictures.
Removing Your Skin
At any time, you can remove your skin if you decide you wish to return to your guitar’s original look. This is as simple as pealing off the skin, sometimes with the help of a hairdryer to loosen the adhesive. Then, clean your guitar as normal and you are back to where you were.
Clear Coating Your Skin
If you are good with clear coating, you can always spray a few coats of clear coat to make your skin permanent and looking just like a painted guitar. However…you don’t have to! We offer our skins with either our Clear Glossy laminate (clear coat) or Modern Matte laminate (dull coat) for FREE!
How Long Does a Guitar Skin Last?
With proper care and cleaning, a SkinYourSkunk.com guitar skin can last many years. As of today, the longest lasting skin has been installed for four years and still going! You can take a look at our CUSTOMER IMAGE GALLERY to see other customer’s already skinned guitars, basses and acoustics.
But in addition to all the skins, designs, materials, printing, etc…SkinYourSkunk.com offers something you may not find anywhere else. Our AWESOME customer service! You can buy a skin from many places, choose your size and pay your money. But at SkinYourSkunk.com, we cater to the customer. Once you choose your design and make payment, one of our graphic designers will contact you via email personally to obtain YOUR guitar’s specific measurements (height and width). We verify your options and create a proof (printable PDF version) of your skin for your approval. If you wish it positioned a bit differently, want a color or brightness change, etc…we do that without any additional charge. We then print your skin, package it up in a hard cardboard tube and send it to you with USPS tracking.
