Skinny was contacted over at SkinnyTheSkunk.com by a customer that has a problem with their guitar. It appears that this guy’s wife wasn’t too happy with a relationship he formed with a certain girl. While I would consider it a bit of an overreaction on the wife’s part…and a bit misguided…the result was the following.
So just to be clear…this “inscription” states “I cheated on my wife…I fucked Kammie”. As you can probably guess, this customer would like his beautiful, 2014 Gibson SG 60’s Tribute guitar restored to it’s original condition. Now personally…Skinny would simply clear coat over the “message” and proudly wield the axe on stage for the world to see…not everyone would share that view.
To add to the complications of this guitar skin, he would not only like to fix the finish, but add a picture of “Kammie” to the skin. Yes…you heard that right. Remove the text and replace it with a picture of the girl in question. The word “BALLS” comes to mind.
So…Skinny plans to document this process for everyone and we will start here with a few sample, mock-up images being provided to the customer.
And with this, we will see what our customer would like to do from here. Oh…VERY IMPORTANT! Skinny asked for permission from the customer prior to posting these pictures and he was happy to allow me to offer a description of the situation.
