I was browsing around and stumbled upon a few companies selling Laptop Skins. What a cool idea…buy a skin, attach it to your Laptop top and WOW…a quick, easy and dramatic change. But sadly, the idea was much better than the product. I guess I should have known. For ten or fifteen dollars and shipped from China, what should I have expected. The material was crap, somewhere between window stickers and regular paper stickers. The image was there, but it was more like a page from a magazine…no depth.
So I began collecting and licensing images from some great Graphic Artists, Designers and many I created myself. I worked for a while with our printer and we came up with an absolutely amazing material combination of Premium, Adhesive Backed Vinyl, 1440 DPI High Definition Printing and a Clear Glossy or Flat Matte Laminate. Combining this with a High Definition Image Catalog of over 1000 graphics…we opened GraphicLaptops.com.
With a goal of a $20 price tag (plus shipping) we opened our GraphicLaptops.com site on June 1st, 2014 and received our first sale within 24 hours. I was impressed! Apparently promoting GraphicLaptops.com as a Premium Skin company and product was getting some attention. So…we decided to bring over an idea from our Guitar Skin Website, SkinYourSkunk.com.
Customers always seemed to love the custom handling of our Guitar Skin site where a customer chooses a design, orders the skin and we work with the customer to fit it perfectly and send them a proof for their approval prior to shipping. We also added our Custom Design Service so if out of our 1000+ designs, they still wanted something…more unique…we could do that for them. Again…a popular feature.
GraphicLaptops.com is a USA Owned and Operated Company. That says a lot today in a world where some say “You didn’t build that”. Well…we did, and we did it better than some Chinese based, bulk manufacturer. American Quality and some creativity is slowly earning us a place in the internet rankings and search engines among the hundreds of cheaper product websites. So we are getting there.
